Our Programs
At Belonging Books, we center BIPOC voices, celebrate stories, and contribute to a thriving community. Our programs and workshops offer a place for rest, reflection, and connection, fostering a sense of belonging, creativity, and joy through literature and shared experiences.

Read & Rest Circles
Read any book of your choice. We will read quietly in community for the first 45 minutes. The second 45 minutes will open up for discussion. Belonging Books' Rest and Read Circle is BIPOC-centered space, designed as an intentional gathering space for people of color to rest and connect.

Writing Circles
Come write with the Belonging Books' community. This restful and low-key writing space is dedicated to our BIPOC community. So bring something you're working on or just come and explore writing in community! **Belonging Books also holds facilitated writing circles for middle school and high school students. Contact for more information.

Book Socials
Our book social is designed as an intentional gathering space for women of color and gender non-conforming people of color — to provide a safe space of support, expression and joy for people who may not feel like they have that space here on the Cape. It is meant to be a small sanctuary, a resting place, for people of color who can tire of assimilating, code-switching or constantly trying to keep people comfortable. In this space, whiteness is de-centered and the views and voices of people of color are centered.

Author Visits
Belonging Books organizes author, illustrator and poet visits to schools and other organizations. With a focus on supporting our local writers, we connect incredible and inspiring talent to our children and community.

Workshops
Belonging Books hosts BIPOC-centered literary-inspired workshops. Past workshops include a creative writing workshop and journalism workshop for high school students. We collaborate with local professional writers and artists to bring a safe space to explore and hone writing skills.
Unerased: Asian Voices of Cape Cod
A short documentary by Belonging Books and Big Tree amplifying and highlighting Asian Cape Codders' experiences. If you are interested in finding out where this film can be viewed or showing this film to your community with an option for Q&A, please fill out this inquiry form. We will get back to you shortly. Check out our Events Calendar to see where Unerased will be screening.
