Belonging Books is a community program provider and pop-up bookstore that centers the voices and stories of people of color and other underrepresented communities on Cape Cod. Through its creative programs and events, it creates and holds gathering space for joy, celebration, rest and belonging.

Book Corner at Love Live Local

You can now find Belonging Books' Book Corner at the Love Live Local retail store at 539 South Street, Hyannis! 

​

Open from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., you will be able to look for your next book while checking out other local small businesses' and artists' work.

Special Orders

Please contact Belonging Books directly for any special orders, including book drive orders. We would love to help you get books for your school, book club, classroom library, event, book drive or yourself!

Events and Programs

Journalism Workshop 

Introducing the "Imani Scribes Journalism Workshop", designed specifically for BIPOC students aged 12-18. This 6-week, free workshop will expose you to the world of local journalism by Cape Cod Times journalist, Rachael Devaney. Transportation support is available! Participants will get paid!

In collaboration with Belonging Books, Zion Union Heritage Museum and Rachael Devaney, this program is generously sponsored by The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. Click below for more details and to register.

Writing Circles

Are you working on a piece of writing, looking for dedicated time and space to write, or want to explore writing?

Belonging Books is hosting an informal, recurring writing circle centering people of color where you can write, and if you want, share your writing in a safe and welcoming environment. Click below for more details.

Book Social

On Sunday, April 28 at 3:30 pm, we will discuss "The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches" by Sangu Mandanna. Taking a breather from some of the heavier books!

This intentional gathering space is dedicated for people who identify as women of color or gender diverse people of color. Learn more here

Four non-profit and mission driven organizations - Amplify POC, Belonging Books, Cape Cod Voices, and The Cordial Eye - currently make up The Arts & Justice Collective.

The Arts & Justice Collective is a group of non-profit and mission driven organizations based on Cape Cod, MA. We use our collective strengths, missions, and resources to empower each other and our community to create a culture of belonging for members of historically-excluded groups through art and social justice.

Give to the Belonging Books Scholarship Fund

Accessibility and equity is integral to the mission of Belonging Books. Please support our community by giving to the Belonging Books Scholarship Fund. These funds will give people the opportunity to join our community programming, such as our youth writing circles.

Belonging Books is a social mission LLC. It is not a 501(c)(3) entity. Donations will not be tax-deductible.
