About the event

Join Wellfleet Preservation Hall, along with sponsors and friends, Mass Humanities, Belonging Books, activist and writer Sallie Tighe, musician and professor David Eure for an evening of performance, reflections, stories and discussions based on Frederick Douglass's famous speech, "What to the Slave is the 4th of July." This event/workshop is free and open to all.


Sallie and David will read an abridged version of the speech, and there will be questions and prompts to lead discussions afterward.
